Hi, I am Luann!

I began competing in Dog Sports in 2001. I enjoy competing in obedience, rally, tracking, agility, schutzhund/IGP, and scentwork.

I enjoy the challenge of dog training. After all these years, I am still in awe of our dogs’ ability to learn and their desire to work with us. It is a continuous learning process, as each dog presents unique strengths and challenges. Each dog teaches me something new!

I am excited to join the team at Flying Feet, sharing what I have learned with others and helping them bring out the best in their canine partners.

My current dogs are;

• Dharla VCD2 CDX PCDX BN GN GO TD RI AXP AJP MFP T2B CGCU FITG (German Shepherd). Dharla is 6 years old and currently competing for her obedience Utility title and at the Master level in agility.  

• Valor (Belgian Sheepdog). Valor is currently 15 months oldand in training for obedience, rally, and agility.

My accomplishments in dog sports include:

➢ Obedience High Combined at the 2015 American Belgian Tervuren Club National Specialty

➢ 1st Place in the Novice class at the AKC 2015 Rally National Championship

➢ 8th Place in the Advance class at the AKC 2016 Rally National Championship

➢ 10th Place in Open at the AKC 2017 Obedience Classic

➢ Obedience High in Trial (from the Open B class) at the 2018 German Shepherd Dog Club of America National Specialty

➢ Front & Finish #1 German Shepherd Dog in Rally Rankings in 2017 & 2018

➢ Front & Finish #4 All Breed in Rally Rankings in 2018

➢ German Shepherd Dog of America 2018 Top Ranked/Rally Dog of the Year

➢ High Scoring “HOT” (Handler/Owner/Trained) IGP1 team at the 2019 Bluegrass Dog Training Club’s Schutzhund/IGP trial

➢ German Shepherd Dog of America #2 Ranked German Shepherd Dog in Obedience for 2022

➢ Multiple UDX (Utility Dog Excellent) titles, OM (Obedience Master) titles, and TD (Tracking Dog) titles

➢ Multiple Obedience High Combined and High in Trial scores, and numerous Rally High Combined and High Triple Q scores.

Outside of dog sports, I am a two-time graduate of Indiana University SE with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Business/Accounting and a Minor in Psychology (1990) as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration (1998). In 2025, I retired from a 28 year career with Brown-Forman Corporation as Senior Manager in Production Finance and Government Compliance.
